Seattle Sounders midfielder Gustav Svensson had a historic day on Wednesday, as he captained Sweden for the first time in his career.
Svensson, 33, earned his 30th cap for the Blågult in a 2-0 friendly away loss to Denmark at Brøndby Stadium. He went 75 minutes before being replaced by Sebastian Larsson.
Sweden has two upcoming UEFA Nations League matches, first against Croatia on Nov. 14 followed by France on Nov. 17.
