The Colorado Rapids made the only move of the MLS Waiver Draft on Wednesday, using the second overall pick to select former Sounders FC midfielder Micheal Azira.
The 28 year-old Azira appeared in 25 games over the past two seasons for Seattle before the club opted not to pick up his contract earlier this month. He appeared in all four of the team’s games in the MLS Cup Playoffs in 2014, including one start.
Azira joined the club after two seasons with the Charleston Battery in the USL.
The Sounders passed on using the No. 15 pick in the draft on Wednesday.
