The Seattle Sounders are hosting Minnesota United FC on Saturday (7:30 p.m. PT; Watch free on Apple TV | TICKETS). Here are five reasons to attend the match at Lumen Field this weekend.
Lumen Field Fortress
Saturday’s match will be an opportunity to continue the momentum the Sounders have displayed at home this year. Since the start of the season, the Sounders have not given up a goal at Lumen Field. It will be up to the players on the pitch, fueled by the support in the stands, to add another shutout to the team’s home record this season and continue to showcase the fortress that makes up Lumen Field.
Theme Match
Saturday’s match will be dedicated to Earth Day through the club’s “Protect Our Planet” initiative. The players will be wearing the One Planet Kit on Saturday in order to hone in on adidas and MLS sustainability efforts.
The home match will also have a variety of activations such as the 50/50 raffle, with proceeds going toward EarthGen, a non-profit organization that supports youth and local schools to create a more environmentally friendly future. EarthGen will also provide opportunities to educate fans on ways to positively impact their community while earning giveaway items along the way.
Mercer Island Magician
Veteran forward Jordan Morris remains at the top of the table as the leading MLS goal scorer heading into Matchday 9 this Saturday. So far this season, he’s recorded eight goals over the span of eight matches. Of the four home matches this season, he’s tallied a total of three goals for the Rave Green and will look to maintain his rich vein of form against Minnesota this weekend.
Undefeated against Loons
The Sounders are undefeated at home against Minnesota United FC and are looking to continue that streak this weekend. Minnesota is the only team the Rave Green has played more than twice at home that has never come out with a win or a tie. Including the postseason, the Sounders hold a 7-0-0 record against the Loons at Lumen Field.

Bounce Back
After suffering a 4-1 loss on the road against the Portland Timbers last Saturday, the Sounders are looking to return to winning ways this weekend and come out with a positive result. The Rave Green dropped down two spots to third place in the Western Conference after Saturday’s result and are looking to bring back the consistent success that was shown from the matches prior to rivalry weekend.
