The Sounders finished with a 14-9-11 record, giving the Seattle squad home-field advantage in a best-of-three series and the positioning to take on the No. 7 seed. Seattle will host the first match on October 30 before facing FC Dallas on the road on November 4. The Sounders would host Dallas again on November 10 if necessary. With two potential home matches, the players and coaches are counting on the boisterous support from the fans to make Lumen Field unbearable for their opposition.
Unbeaten Streaks
The Sounders finished the MLS regular season on a nine-game unbeaten streak after taking home a 2-0 victory over St. Louis CITY SC on Oct. 21. The Rave Green hope to continue that momentum as they look ahead to their upcoming playoff matches against FC Dallas. Their opponents enter the Round One series on the back of an eight-match unbeaten run, making this a battle between clubs with stout defenses that are difficult to break down.

Playoff History
Seattle and Dallas have met in the postseason in five of the last nine years, and these fixtures are always instant classics. In more recent years, there was the 4-3 extra-time thriller that saw Jordan Morris record his first professional hat trick, and then Shane O’Neill scored a dramatic header in a 1-0 win in the 2020 Western Conference Semifinal.Â
The Sounders and FC Dallas have met twice this season, with both matches ending in a draw.Â
Back Where We Belong
The Rave Green left last season without the opportunity to compete for MLS Cup, missing the playoffs for the first time since joining MLS in 2009. One year later, the team is back in the postseason as the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference, with the sole objective of adding another trophy to their resume. Since 2016, the Rave Green have secured have reached four MLS Cup Finals, winning two titles along the way, and are determined to add a third starting Monday against FC Dallas.Â
