As the Seattle Sounders march toward the 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs, every single match takes on added significance. Saturday night's Western Conference clash with fellow postseason contender, the Houston Dynamo, is no different.
Here are five reasons to attend our match against the Dynamo (7:30 p.m. PT; MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, 93.3 KJR FM, El Rey 1360AM | TICKETS):
Every Point Matters
With only four matches remaining in the regular season, playoff spots in the in the ultra competitive Western Conference standings will come down to the wire. Seattle enters the weekend sixth in the West, just three points behind the Colorado Rapids in third and one point behind Houston. The recipe for Saturday is pretty simple: The Sounders can clinch a spot in the postseason with a win over the Dynamo. The Rave Green's attack is rounding into form heading into the stretch run, with 11 goals from their last five regular season matches, but they'll need to feed off the energy at Lumen Field to secure three points on Saturday night.
Fan Appreciation Night
As Head Coach Brian Schmetzer often says, this club is the connection between the players and the fans. On Saturday night, we are celebrating that eternal bond with our annual Fan Appreciation Night match. Arrive early for a chance to meet players in the concourse pre-match for pictures and autographs. Players and staff members will also be handing out carnations -- a time-honored tradition that dates back to our inaugural season in 1974 -- as a thank you for your support throughout the 2024 season. Additionally, there will be a special presentation pre-match highlighting our favorite fan moments from the season. During pre-match and halftime, we'll be announcing unique giveaway prizes for fans.
Honoring A Club Legend
One of the most iconic Sounders in club history, Román Torres, will be honored as the Born in '74 Legend of the Match. The dominant defender scored the decisive game-winning penalty for the club's first MLS Cup title in 2016 and was a cornerstone piece as the team won its second star at Lumen Field three years later. Torres will be available for a meet-and-greet in Soccer Celebration prior to the match, where fans can take photos and get autographs.
Fan Appreciation Night

Chasing History
Following his two-goal performance against the San Jose Earthquakes, Sounders forward Jordan Morris is on the brink of making history with his hometown club. The Sounders Academy alum already surpassed his best-ever single-season scoring tally in the regular season with 13 goals in 2024. Add in his four goals from the U.S. Open Cup and Leagues Cup, and Morris is now just two shy of tying Raúl RuidÃaz (2021) and Obafemi Martins (2014) for most goals in a single season across all competitions during the MLS era.
Speaking of iconic players, midfielder Cristian Roldan will tie former captain and club legend Osvaldo Alonso with 339 all-competition appearances if he plays against the Dynamo. It will be a fitting moment for Roldan, who first broke into the team playing alongside Alonso in midfield and has gone on to become one of the most decorated players in Sounders history.
Latinx Heritage Night
As part of the club's celebration of Latinx Heritage Month, Saturday night will be Sounders FC's annual Latinx Heritage Match. There will be vibrant music and delicious food trucks in the North Plaza prior to the match.
