Seattle Sounders FC is encouraging fans to arrive early ahead of Saturday’s pivotal, season-ending clash with the LA Galaxy. Saturday’s match, presented by SUBWAY® Restaurants of Western Washington, will decide the 2014 MLS Supporters’ Shield, awarded to the team with the best regular season record in MLS. The Supporters’ Shield provides its victor home-field advantage throughout the MLS Cup Playoffs, including the right to host MLS Cup should Sounders FC advance to the League’s championship match. Either a win or a draw against LA on Saturday will secure the Supporters’ Shield for Seattle, and the contest is being carried nationally on NBC, with pre-match coverage beginning at 11:30 a.m. PST.
Fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 11:30 a.m. ahead of Saturday’s noon PST kickoff on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field, as the club is hosting Fan Appreciation Day, featuring a special pre-match banner ceremony to commemorate specific Sounders FC accomplishments.
With the Supporters’ Shield on the line against LA, the Shield itself will be onsite throughout Saturday’s match, and will spearhead the players’ pre-match walkout.
Fan Appreciation Day also features over 500 giveaways, including authentic Sounders FC-signed memorabilia. Throughout the match, the team and its partners will celebrate the loudest fans in the MLS by awarding prizes to fans in various sections. Fan giveaways include the following:
• Twenty (20) SUBWAY® $5 gift cards
• One (1) $500 credit on TireBuyer.com toward a set of Continental Tires
