Sounders forward Clint Dempsey has suffered a minor hamstring injury while on duty with the U.S. National Team and has been cleared to return to Seattle, meaning he'll miss the Red, White and Blue's two upcoming friendlies against Denmark and Switzerland.
Dempsey, 32, has made 112 appearances for the United States, scoring 40 goals in the process. He's in his third season with Sounders FC and has netted 19 goals in 37 appearances, including three in the first two matches of the 2015 season.
The injury means Dempsey will be unavailable for the club's match with Club Tijuana this evening. His status for this weekend's road trip to FC Dallas is uncertain, as the forward will be evaluated by the team's medical staff this week.
