Seattle Sounders FC defender DeAndre Yedlin has been named to the U.S. Men’s National Team roster for a pair of international friendlies against Colombia and Ireland. The Stars and Stripes meet Colombia on November 14 at Craven Cottage in London, England, with kickoff set for 11:45 a.m. PST on ESPN, WatchESPN, UniMas and ESPN Deportes Radio. Four days later, the United States play on the Republic of Ireland's home soil for the first time since 2002, when Jurgen Klinsmann’s side faces Ireland at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, with coverage beginning at 11:45 a.m. PST on ESPN2 and Univision.
Yedlin, 21, has nine caps for the USMNT — all in 2014 — and became the first MLS Homegrown Player to represent the U.S. in the FIFA World Cup, making three appearances against Portugal, Germany, and Belgium in Brazil earlier this summer. The Seattle-native started all 25 of his appearances for Sounders FC in the 2014 MLS regular season and has recorded three assists.
A current sophomore at Stanford, Sounders FC Academy product Jordan Morris has also been added to Klinsmann’s roster. The 20-year-old Morris has four goals and six assists in 14 appearances for the Cardinal this season. He was a First Team All-PAC-12 selection in his freshman season, leading the Cardinal with seven assists and adding six goals. He earned 2013 USSDA Player of the Year and 2012 Gatorade Washington State Player of the Year honors while playing for the Sounders FC Academy. Morris earned a senior National Team call-up in preparation for the 1-0 win against the Czech Republic on September 3.
