Brad Evans may not be suiting up for the Red, White and Blue for this month's Copa America Centenario, but he has produced some great moments for his country throughout his career. One of those moments was his first international goal, scored exactly three years ago today.
The goal was well-taken, with Evans receiving the ball with his back to goal from teammate Michael Bradley. Evans turned and fired into the far post corner on two touches. Even more impressive, though, were the circumstances of the goal.
Evans scored in the 92nd minute of a World Cup Qualifying match against Jamaica. It was the game-winning goal and earned three points for an American side that was 1-1-1 in CONCACAF Fourth Round qualifying at that point. The result helped the States earn a 7-2-1 record, winning the group and qualifying them for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
Check out the goal above, and don’t forget to cheer on the USA all this month during Copa America Centenario.
