WHERE TO WATCH: The match will be available to stream on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
WHERE TO LISTEN: The match will air on 93.3 KJR FM and El Rey 1360AM.
2024 RECORDS AND STANDINGS: Sounders: 1-3-2 (5 points, 12th West), Dallas: 1-4-1 (4 points, 13th West)
FORM GUIDE (most recent first): Seattle: WLLDD, Dallas: DLLLL
PREVIOUS MEETING: The Sounders defeated FC Dallas in the first round of the 2023 MLS Cup Playoffs, a best-of-three, home-and-home series. Seattle took the opening match 2-0 in Seattle before Dallas forced a rubber match by winning 3-1 in Texas. The Sounders finished the job in the third match via a 1-0 win at Lumen Field.
FLOODGATES OPEN: After a frustrating start to the season, especially in the goalscoring department, the Sounders found their footing in a massive way last week by thumping CF Montréal 5-0. Raúl Ruidíaz (brace), Jordan Morris, Alex Roldan and Dylan Teves all got in on the goalscoring action.
REIGNING PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Ruidíaz for his efforts was named MLS Player of the Matchday. The Peruvian Designated Player recorded his 16th career Sounders brace and added a secondary assist to boot.
HEALTHY HORIZONS: Stefan Frei is back in goal and keeping clean sheets. Albert Rusnák just played a full 90 minutes and looked like a dominant No. 10. João Paulo made his long-awaited season debut as a second-half substitute. Seattle is finally getting closer to enjoying its full repertoire, which makes nights like last weekend’s against Montréal feel like just the beginning.
WALKING WOUNDED: Dallas, meanwhile, has been bitten by the injury bug badly. Alan Velasco (knee), Jesús Ferreira (hamstring), Asier Illarramendi (adductor), Marco Farfan (head), Geovane Jesus (knee) and Paxton Pomykal (knee) have all missed significant time this season already.
SEARCHING FOR GOALS: FC Dallas has only scored six goals in six matches this season, the worst scoring mark in the Western Conference. Only the New England Revolution, Orlando City SC and New York City FC have scored fewer in MLS.
NEW MAN IN TOWN: If Dallas is going to get back on the score sheet, it will need the help of club-record-signing Petar Musa, who joined from Portuguese giants Benfica this past offseason. The 26-year-old Croatian international scored in his debut but hasn’t found the back of the net in the past four matches with FC Dallas going 0-3-1.
