Concacaf today announced the dates and times for the 2022 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League Final. The Rave Green are set to battle Liga MX powerhouse Pumas UNAM for a chance to be the first MLS team to hoist the SCCL trophy, with Seattle being only the fifth MLS side to ever reach the continental championship.
The first leg of play sees Sounders FC on the road, taking on the Mexico City-based Pumas at Estadio OlÃmpico Universitario on Wednesday, April 27 at 7:30 p.m. PT. The second leg of play comes back to Seattle, giving Sounders FC the rare opportunity to hoist the tournament trophy in front of a home crowd in a match at Lumen Field on Wednesday, May 4 at 7:00 p.m. PT.
Season Ticket Members can access a special pre-sale window to purchase tickets for the home leg that began earlier this morning and runs through 3:00 p.m. PT this afternoon. The public on-sale begins at 3:00 p.m. PT today and tickets are available exclusively online through SoundersFC.com.
Fans are encouraged to be there as part of a historic game, as the Rave Green play in the club’s first-ever SCCL Final with the chance to become the first Major League Soccer side in history to win the current iteration of the Concacaf Champions League. In addition to adding another trophy to the team’s collection, the winner of the tournament goes on to represent the region as the top club side from North America, Central America and the Caribbean at the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup.
Due to the addition of these fixtures to Sounders FC’s schedule, the club has rescheduled its MLS match vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Previously set for Saturday, April 30 at Lumen Field, this Cascadia clash is now being played on Tuesday, June 14. Further information, including kickoff time, is forthcoming.
Following last night’s result against NYCFC, Brian Schmetzer’s side faces a quick turnaround as it now returns home and back to MLS action with a home match at Lumen Field against Inter Miami CF on Saturday, April 16 (7:00 p.m. PT / FS1, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
