Sounders FC kicks off three weeks of road matches on Saturday as they take on the San Jose Earthquakes for the first time at Avaya Stadium. To preview the fixture, Brad Evans delivers the latest edition of his Captain's Notes.
It’s the third time we are playing the San Jose Earthquakes this season. We weren't able to get the result we wanted earlier this season against them but now we're playing them on the road. They all play for each other on that team and they have a lot of talent. We know we need to be aware of Chris Wondolowski up top and Quincy Amarikwa has had a bit of a revival for them recently. We need to be ready for their speed.
We’re both in a playoff race and we have to be thinking about our game and how we can get a result away from home. We have to do whatever it takes to get as many points as possible on the road. That’s our objective in this match. Everyone is on board. Everyone is ready to fight.
We’re still making a playoff push. We’re at .500 and our goal is not dipping below that in our final matches of the season. We need to make a strong push going into the playoffs. We’re ready to go.
Let's go, Sounders!
