Sounders-Timbers. It’s the biggest game of the season. It’s time to work.
We’re on the outside looking in on the playoffs right now and it’s never been that case before. Our backs are against the wall and a lot of us have never experienced this feeling at this point in the season. We hope that brings the group together at this point. We’re fighting for our lives and we can’t say it enough. It’s time to come together and it’s time to do work.
We spoke about it on Saturday at training but it’s enough talk; we have to win these games. Seven of our last eight are against Western Conference opponents and if we play like I know we can, we will find ourselves in a good position heading into the playoffs.
We have to ultimately do the work on the field and make it a fortress on Sunday. We need to come out the way we did against Orlando City and press and be animals out there. We may be backed into a corner but the only way out right now is through Portland. That’s the way we take it tomorrow, fans included. I know they’ll be behind us.
There’s not much to say this week except let’s get to work. Let’s go, Sounders!
