Sounders FC captain Brad Evans is back in Seattle after two big wins with the U.S. Men's National Team. With several key starters returning to training this week, the Rave Green is set to take on FC Dallas on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field. Evans reflects on his time with the USMNT and the preparations for Saturday's match at home in this week's Captain's Notes.
It's good to be back in the United States of America. It's always a pleasure to represent the Red, White and Blue and to get two historic results against two European powerhouses. I've never experienced anything like that with two wins back-to-back so it was really special and really fun to be a part of.
As soon as those games were over, I was ready to focus on the next game. For us, that's a difficult task at home against Western Conference opponent FC Dallas. They are dealing with some international call-ups and injuries, so we will see what kind of lineup they bring. It's a difficult task and one that we've got to be up for. We have to be ready to fight at home.
We have been very good at home. We had an unlucky result on the road against Kansas City. Things will even out for us and now we just have to put in the work. When we do that, we tend to be on the good side of results.
I'm excited to be back at home. FC Dallas is a difficult team with Fabian Castillo on the wing, Mauro Diaz in there who is both extremely dynamic and extremely tricky. He is one of those players that you just can't seem to get your hands on. It's a really good team. We can't look past this game.
We have a tough schedule coming up but all focus goes to playing at CenturyLink Field on Saturday night. The guys will be ready to go. I know the crowd will be there. Let's get three points.
Go Sounders!
