Captain's Notes: 4/18/15 at Colorado Rapids -

On the road for the second straight week, Sounders FC is in Colorado to face the Rapids. Team captain Brad Evans gives his thoughts on the match in his latest entry in Captain's Notes.

Tough game against LA. Going down to LA is never easy. Last year, losing by the same score 1-0 at their place... even with the changes they've had, they're still a very good team. There were plenty of chances to score. With their keeper making 10 saves and a couple of them he didn't even realize he had made a save I don't think. We were definitely a bit unlucky. We played very well, moved the ball well, created chances and made good combinations on the wings with young guys like Andy Rose and Cristian Roldan and even Dylan Remick on defense.

Overall, a good team performance but unlucky not to get a result.
This week I had midweek action in a game against Mexico. I think you may have seen that. Tough game against your rival, but always a pleasure to be there and get a few minutes and stretch the legs.
I flew back to Seattle on Thursday, trained with the team on Friday, and now we're in Colorado. We're facing a team that is coming off a 4-0 win away from home against what was a second-place Dallas. I don't think anyone saw that result coming but with them not having scored in a few games. They're a very, very dangerous team playing this week, especially at home.
We have to be aware in the first fifteen, twenty minutes and be sure we play to zero the best we can. We hope to score early then defense is the name of the game as you work to keep the ball out of the net. It should be good conditions and I know our fans will be out there.
