Just days after securing a spot in the Western Conference Semifinals, Sounders FC springs back into action against FC Dallas. It's a short turnaround for the club but captain Brad Evans knows his teammates are ready and he previews the match in the latest edition of his Captain's Notes
Mental focus is the objective for this game. It's the third game in seven days for us. Dallas is our opponent and they're a very physical and fast team. We have to be very mentally alert and conscious of the first twenty minutes of this game. That's key to this series. I think that'll be essential.
From that standpoint, the boys are ready. Obviously it was a phenomenal crowd this past Wednesday night against LA and it was a tremendous result for the club. Like we all know, the toughest task lies ahead. The best thing was a quick turnaround. The guys will be a bit tired, but mentally we have to be ready to go.
This isn't just do or die, but it's a bit of a game of cat and mouse as it's a two-leg series. We have to be cautious about how we approach this game. It's going to be great to be back at home and that helps save our legs since we don't have to travel. We're ready to go. I know you guys will be there.
Let's get this one again. Let's go, Sounders!
