Arsenal fans, rejoice: The boys will be coming stateside this July.
MLS announced on Thursday that the MLS All-Stars will take on Arsenal at this summer's annual MLS All-Star Game, and the event will be held at Avaya Stadium, the home of the San Jose Earthquakes.
The game is scheduled for Thursday, July 28 at 6 p.m. PT.
This will be the first time Arsenal plays in the summer showcase, joining previous opponents from the EPL such as Manchester United, Chelsea and most recently, Tottenham Hotspur.
The Seattle Sounders have a notable history with Arsenal, perhaps most memorably with Freddie Ljungberg. The Swedish international joined the Sounders as a Designated Player ahead of the club's inaugural 2009 season after logging nearly a decade at Emirates Stadium.
Former Sounders player Steve Zakuani was also a member of the Arsenal youth setup before emigrating to the U.S.
Two Sounders players appeared in last summer's MLS All-Star Game against Tottenham - forward Clint Dempsey and defender Chad Marshall - and a total of nine Sounders players past and present have appeared in the game since 2009: Ljungberg, Dempsey, Marshall, Kasey Keller, Fredy Montero, Eddie Johnson, Osvaldo Alonso, DeAndre Yedlin and Obafemi Martins.
