It would appear as though Sounders FC forward Obafemi Martins is already in mid-season form.
Only two months into the 2015 campaign, Martins leads MLS with six goals and has chipped in a pair of assists for good measure. And that goes without mentioning all the silly spins and flicks and moves he puts on that don't show up in the scoresheet.
The 30-year-old 2014 MVP runner up bagged a pair of goals against New York City FC on Sunday night, a performance that saw him voted the MLS Player of the Week. It's the first time this season that he's been given the honor.
For reference, please observe the goals Martins scored below, including the second - a culmination of an 18-pass move by your Sounders FC. Nifty stuff.
That flip was nice. This flick was better:
Hold on to your hats, Columbus...Oba and the Sounders are coming to town.
