Following the team’s 1-1 draw against FC Cincinnati at TQL Stadium on Saturday evening, Seattle Sounders goalkeeper Andrew Thomas was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday bench for Matchday 22.
This marks Thomas' first-ever selection to the league’s weekly honors.
Over the course of the 90 minutes, Thomas put up seven saves, with four of them being diving efforts. His goalkeeping heroics prevented 1.21 goals, supporting the Rave Green with a point on the road.
His most notable save came in the 15th minute when he denied Miles Robinson's header that was en route to the bottom corner of the net.
The Sounders return to action on Saturday when they host Chicago Fire at Lumen Field (1:30 p.m. PT; Apple TV, 93.3 KJR FM, El Rey 1360AM).
