Sounders FC U-18s moved into the top spot in the Northwest Division and continued their unbeaten streak (6-0-1) with a 1-0 win over the Portland Timbers on Sunday. Sean Bowman scored the game’s lone goal in the 61st minute when Ryan Schaefer found space in-between the backline and fed Bowman for his 21st goal of the season.
The U-16s struck early in their match when Ivory Randle pushed forward with a strong run down the left flank before cutting inside the box and netting a shot to the far post in the fifth minute. Despite creating a number of quality chances, the group fell 3-1 to the Timbers.
Standout Performer
Lorenzo Ramos played a key role in the heart of the team for the U18s. Ramos' tireeless effort and neat passing kept the team ticking over against a defensive Timbers team.
Tactical Focus
The group moves into the finishing phase of development during this stage. The coaches hope that this can translate to goals.
