The U-19s have yet to beat Crossfire Premier this season. After earning a dramatic 3-3 draw at the start of the season, the young Sounders outplayed their local rival in March but suffered a disappointing defeat at Starfire. A win on Saturday would be a bit of poetic justice, as it would book passage to the 2018-19 USSDA playoffs for the Rave Green.
The U-17s, conversely, enter Saturday’s fixture with a chance to sweep their in-state rival. A 6-1 win over Crossfire in September was followed up by a 3-0 win in March. Another three points would help secure a more favorable group in the postseason.
Having already won the Northwest Division, which includes an automatic appearance in the first-ever USSDA U-15 playoffs, the youngest Sounders team will look to keep their unbeaten season alive at Marymoor Park on Saturday.

Director’s Take
“We’re looking forward to getting back to playing,” said Sounders FC Director of Player Development and Academy Director Marc Nicholls. “We haven’t had a league game in about a month, so it will be nice for the boys to get an opportunity to play locally.”
Club and Country
There has been a slew of international call-ups for Sounders youth team players in the past month. Austin Brummett, who recently became the youngest player to make a debut in USL Championship history, and Angel Martinez, a 2005, recently took place in the Torneo Delle Nazioni in Italy with the U.S. U-15 national team. Sounders FC Homegrowns Danny Leyva and Alfonso Ocampo-Chavez are one win away from helping the United States qualify for the 2019 U-17 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
Summer Preview
The young Sounders will be traveling all over the world this summer, with different age group teams taking place in international tournaments in Mexico, Switzerland, England and South Korea. Domestically, they’ll also be competing in the Manchester City Cup and USSDA Playoffs.
