The Seattle Sounders have seven players competing internationally during this FIFA window, including six in World Cup Qualifiers. Here is a breakdown of who, when and where your Sounders are playing.
UNITED STATES — Clint Dempsey
CONCACAF Hexagonal Matchday 9 vs. Panama | U.S. defeat Panama 4-0
Clint Dempsey entered as a substitute in the 71st minute and helped the United States close out a massive home result against Panama and keep the U.S. in control of their own destiny. The U.S. are in third in the Hexagonal with 12 points and occupy the final automatic World Cup Qualifying spot, two ahead of Panama and Honduras with one match to go. A win at Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday would book the Yanks’ ticket, while a draw would nearly guarantee it as well because of the U.S.’ plus-seven goal differential on Panama.

Panama can still qualify for their first World Cup with a win over Costa Rica and a U.S. loss in Trinidad or a win of more than eight goals and a U.S. draw. CONCACAF’s fourth-place finisher will enter a home-and-home playoff against either Syria or Australia in the Asian Confederation. They played to a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Malaysia, where Syria is playing their home matches, and will play the return leg in Sydney on Tuesday.

Joevin Jones entered as a substitute in the 73rd minute, but El Tri scored in the 78th, 88th and 94th minutes to send the Soca Warriors home empty-handed. UEFA Group A Matchday 9 vs. Luxembourg | Sweden defeat Luxembourg 8-0
Sweden recorded a massive 8-0 victory at home to Luxembourg to all but secure a World Cup berth. Gustav Svensson was available on the matchday roster, but he did not play. The Blågult visit the Netherlands on Tuesday three points ahead of the Oranje and only one point behind first-place France.
